The soldiers will mostly be responsible for piloting the Minifo saucers.  They will also be involved in piloting some Vegan saucer beasts.  Sometimes they will engage in plans on Earth as well.  Higher Vegan commanders will use them as helpers for their plans.  They will also be seen in the flagships of the different generals and commanders.
