Grendizer    Getta Robo G    Great Mazinger

Final Battle !    Giant Sea Monster

 

This is one of the movies where Grendizer appears on the big screen!  A great movie that combines the Go Nagai super robots together as a team against a common enemy.  This special movie has no link to the actual Grendizer series, it is a separate happening.  One could fit this movie in a chronological order in the Grendizer series though.  This one would have to be after episode #36 of Grendizer.  This is when the Grendizer/Double Spazer docking was perfected.

 

 

The Bachi Scarf oil tanker mysteriously disappears and Dr. Saotome calls on the Getta Robo team to come and investigate.  Getta Poseidon will go to the bottom of the sea and discover an oversized  dragonzaurus, a creature that used to live under the sea in ancient times.  Later it is discovered that Dragonzaurus feeds on oil, and this explains why this one became so unnaturally huge.

 

 

A meeting takes place with Dr. Saotome, Dr. Umon, and Dr. Yumi, along with the security forces to discuss how to resist this enemy.  Dr. Umon suggest the Super Robot Army.  This army consists of Getta Robo G, Great Mazinger, and Grendizer with Double Spazer.

 

 

The Boss along with Nuké and Mocha decide to join the army and soon they will get swallowed by Dragonzaurus.  This makes things very complicated for the Super Robot Army.  The team also discovers that this huge beast recovers from injuries shortly after being shot.

 

 

Great Mazinger actually goes into the stomach of Dragonzaurus to find the Boss Borot and save it along with the pilots inside.  Tetsuya manages to save Boss and his friends, but only with the Boss Borot's head.

 

 

The Super Robot Team will struggle with the Dragonzaurus and find themselves not able to do very much.  After Great Mazinger and Getta Robo G get knocked down, Duke Freed will shoot Grendizer out of Spazer to take on Dragonzaurus.

 

 

Before getting pushed away with a wind blast, Grendizer manages to shoot out the right eye of Dragonzaurus with the Screw Crusher Punch; the first real damage to this beast was accomplished by Duke Freed and Grendizer.

 

 

Earlier, one notices that it was Grendizer's Space Thunder that made Dragonzaurus retreat for a while.  Although not formally mentioned, but Duke Freed was clearly the leader of the Super Robot Team as he was giving them orders to follow.  Koji Kabuto was working closely with Duke Freed, and Tetsuya was working closely with Ryuma, Benkei, and Hayato.

 

 

Knowing that the Dragonzaurus feeds on oil, Tetsuya gets the idea of throwing gas tanks in its stomach to make the explosion bigger.  This is done and the entire team begins a massive attack on Dragonzaurus.

 

 

As Getta Robo G and Great Mazinger attack Dragonzaurus from the top, Grendizer and Double Spazer combine.  Koji Kabuto fires the Double Cutter and opens the stomach of the beast.

 

 

Duke Freed follows it up and fires Grendizer's Double Harken to make the opening of the stomach bigger; this is the first time Grendizer uses the Double Harken weapon in mid-air with Double Spazer on his back.  Ryuma will launch Getta Dragun's Getta Shine weapon into the stomach of Dragonzaurus to make the huge explosion in the stomach with the gas tanks and oil.  Dragonzaurus is finished.

 

 

Great Mazinger

Great Mazinger is the super robot that came after Mazinger Z, and it is piloted by Tetsuya.  Tetsuya was adopted by Koji's late father Dr. Kabuto.  Dr. Kabuto was not seen in this movie because this took place after Koji's father passed away at the end of the Great Mazinger series.

Great Mazinger is a very capable super robot, it is able to dish out a lot punishment.  But even though its metal is more solid than Mazinger Z's metal, Great Mazinger usually gets damaged quite a bit.

In this battle, Great Mazinger was the one that went into the stomach of Dragonzaurus to save the Boss and his friends.  Tetsuya also came up with the idea of putting gas tanks in the stomach of Dragonzaurus to maximize the explosion when it happens.

Sayaka and Jun also appeared in their lady robots.  They didn't really help in any way.  Sayaka's father, Dr. Yumi also appeared in this movie as well.

 

Getta Robo G

This super robot consists of 3 ships that combine into 3 different super robots.  In this movie, Getta Poseidon was used first with its pilot Benkei to investigate the disappearance of the Bachi Scarf oil tanker.  Later on though, the Getta Dragun with its pilot Ryuma was used only.  Getta Ryger with Hayato was never used in this battle.

The Getta Robo G team did some really great things.  The main thing was the Getta Shine attack at the very end when it was shot into the stomach of Dragonzaurus to make the explosion happen.  Getta Robo G is a very powerful super robot.  From my observations, I believe Getta Robo G comes in second most powerful after Grendizer, it is more powerful than Great Mazinger.  Getta Robo G can withstand more damage than Great Mazinger.  The disadvantage of Getta Robo G is that after using the Getta Shine, Getta Dragun runs out of energy and needs to be refueled.  The Getta Shine can only be used once.

Dr. Saotome was seen in this movie along with his daughter Michiru as well.
 

 

UFO ROBO GRENDIZER & DOUBLE SPAZER

Well, this whole web-site is on Dizer.  Grendizer is clearly the leader in this movie.  As mentioned earlier, Grendizer's attacks and weapons were the ones that shook Dragonzaurus the most.  Koji Kabuto with Double Spazer also did some great teamwork with Duke Freed.  It is interesting to see how Koji remained closely with Duke Freed and not with Tetsuya for example.  Koji nearly got into a fight with Tetsuya.

The team of Grendizer and Double Spazer did some great contributions in this battle.  Grendizer was able to injure one of the eyes of Dragonzaurus single handedly.  Later, Grendizer and Double Spazer will open the stomach of Dragonzaurus with the Double Cutter and the Double Harken weapons for the final blow.

Dr. Umon was in this movie as well.  He met with Doctors Yumi and Saotome.  Dr. Umon proposed the idea of using the most powerful super robots in Japan to resist the Dragonzaurus.
