Dr. Umon and Staff

Dr. Umon is the founder of the Space Science Centre, and is also Danbi's business partner in the Shirakaba farm. Dr. Umon is a brilliant scientist with an aim to explore the universe. He adopted Duke Freed as his own son, Daisuke Umon. Dr. Umon's Space Science Centre slowly turned into a war base for the battle against the Vegans. |

| Although Dr. Umon hated turning his observatory into a war station, he had no choice. Dr. Umon is brilliant in that he always surprised everyone with his new inventions. The three Spazer ships for Grendizer, the Ultra Submarine for Grendizer; this helped Grendizer go to depths of up to 3000 meters under the sea, Grendizer was able to destroy the Vegans' underwater base with it. Dr. Umon also completed the Special Cosmo ships in the last episode; this gave Koji, Maria, and Hikaru the ability to launch into outer space and fight Vega with Grendizer. |

Dr. Umon worried about and treated Daisuke as though he was his own son. He also cared for everyone else including Koji, who he was always watching very closely. |

Dr. Umon had some great helpers in the Space Science Centre. (Above) Mr. Hayashi took charge of the radar and Mr. Saeki was in charge of Grendizer's secret routes.. Other men also helped out including Mr. Ooi and Mr. Yamada (below). |
